Pennsylvania Realtor® graduates from Realtor® University

Danielle Wadsworth, a Realtor® with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Capital Area, graduated with a master of real estate degree with a concentration in residential real estate sales, marketing and management on Friday. She joins three other Pennsylvania Realtors® who have graduated from Realtor® University, Adrienne “Abe” Wagner, Amy Fry and Erica Ramus.

“Realtor® University really made my dream come true of earning a master’s degree in an online, flexible environment at an affordable price,” said Wadsworth. “I have grown as a person and as a Realtor® through the experience. I just hope that my journey inspires other to strive for more in their own careers.”

Wadsworth, who said she is a “kind of an education junkie,” said she “discovered a love of teaching, mentoring, coaching, etc.” and hopes that receiving her masters’s degree will allow her to do more and do it better.

“I think most of us in real estate are conditioned that we only need a high school diploma and a few weeks of classes. There isn’t a lot of push to pursue higher education, other than broker courses. My biggest takeaway is that we can always learn more and gain the knowledge and tools to better serve our clients, and in my case, the agents I manage. I wanted to be able to elevate my team as much as possible and this was a great way to do that,” she said. “The experience has been wonderful. I have made new friends and the professors are awesome.”

Wadsworth said interacting with the professors, as well as other Realtors® across the country, offered insight and education she couldn’t have gotten elsewhere.

“Pre-licensure education really only scratches the surface of our profession. Representing clients on the biggest investment of their life is a big deal. Many agents get the basics through pre-licensure, and then very little help or direction after that. At Realtor® University, you are learning from the leaders in our profession.  hey all have their doctorate or law degrees and have extensive experience and credentials in their field. The opportunity to learn from these individuals is priceless. Collaborating with your peers exposes you to new ideas and ways to improve your practice in ways you may not have thought of,” she added.

However, while Wadsworth said earning the degree was a worthwhile experience, it wasn’t always easy.

“All of the education is extremely relevant and practical to the day-to-day job of a Realtor®. It has also been time-consuming, which is to be expected. The thesis was brutal, but worth it.”
