Governor and legislature tout Realtors® Reach Out 2010
REALTORS® Reach Out Month 2010 begins today with REALTORS® from local associations and boards donating their time to charitable organizations across the state. The PA Association of REALTORS® (PAR) has garnered support for this initiative from state lawmakers.
Gov. Edward G. Rendell proclaimed October as REALTORS® Reach Out Month. State Sen. Wayne Fontana (D-Allegheny) and REALTOR® and state Rep. Sue Helm (R-Dauphin) put forth resolutions in the House and Senate declaring October as REALTORS® Reach Out Month.
“This initiative provides REALTORS® the opportunity to work with colleagues in their local communities,” said PAR President Don Roth. “It is especially important in this economy to volunteer with charitable organizations that need our support more than ever.”
In the past two years, more than 4,700 REALTORS® across the state participated with 27 local REALTOR® associations and boards, donated more than $101,000 and collected nearly 18,000 pounds of food and 1,000 pieces of clothing for charitable organizations.
To date, 16 associations across the state have scheduled events across the commonwealth. PAR staff is also working with organizations in the midstate.
