Luzerne County Association of Realtors® Provide Meals to Hospital Employees

The Luzerne County Association of Realtors® recently recognized some essential workers in two of their community’s hospitals by delivering meals to them as a thank you for their service. Funding for the meals was provided by PAR’s Century of Service grants, which celebrate the state association’s 100th anniversary.

The Luzerne County Association worked with the local White House Diner to provide 25 hot meals to critical care workers at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center and the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

“Our association is always looking for ways to help in our community and we love giving back,” said LCAR President Terry Solomon-August. “We were pleased to be able to partner with a local business to provide the meals to such deserving workers. It has been a unique time and many of our activities for other charities have been canceled or postponed. This gave us the opportunity to reach out by providing delicious meals to people who are the frontline during the pandemic.”

“We’re so proud of the service our hospital workers are providing to the community and wanted to acknowledge their hard work and dedication,” said Carol Leighton Gray, executive director of LCAR.

Members delivering the meals included Solomon-August, President-elect Joseph Gilroy Jr. and Dave Rubbico Jr., along with Jeff Piazza from the White House Diner in Forty Fort.
