PAR’s CEO Mike McGee was recognized Tuesday evening during the City and State PA’s Pennsylvania Power 100 event in Harrisburg. City and State PA’s Power 100 list recognizes Pennsylvania’s most influential elected officials, labor unions, advocacy groups, political consultants, lobbyists, media personalities and business leaders.
Roughly one-third of those on the list are new to the list this year. Those in the top five include: Gov. Tom Wolf, U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, Comcast Chair and CEO Brian Roberts, U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey and Attorney General Josh Shapiro. McGee was listed at #64, noting, “Throughout the increasingly frenzied real estate market of the past few years, McGee has been a voice for the industry as CEO of the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors®, which represents 39,000 member colleagues.”
Stacy Garrity, treasurer of Pennsylvania and #43 on the Power 100 list, was the guest speaker for the event. She noted how those in power can make positive differences and change things for the better. “No one is guaranteed a place on this Power 100 list next year. We are all caretakers of the power that the people have given us,” she added.
“It’s an honor to be recognized along with other leaders in the commonwealth and for the work of our association and members to be recognized,” McGee said. “I’m inspired by the passion and commitment of our 39,000 members who dedicate their careers to helping people achieve their dreams of owning a home or business. Their devotion to representing their clients motivates me to help carry that message to the legislative arena. Our members and the organization do a phenomenal job of advocating for more favorable laws, regulations and policies for buyers and sellers, housing affordability, fair housing and building stronger communities and businesses.”
“I also have the privilege of working with highly dedicated members of the volunteer leadership team and our professional staff, which is source of strength for our organization,” he added.
McGee has more than 30 years of association management experience, having previously worked with the Homebuilders Association of Chester and Delaware Counties, the Realtors® Legislative Alliance and the Pennsylvania Developers’ Council. As PAR’s CEO, he is an advocate for a creating a consistent and reliable residential and commercial real estate marketplace and promoting the professional and ethical practice of real estate.
