Three Realtors® honored at PAR’s Fall Business Meetings
Three Pennsylvania Realtors® received awards during a special gathering last night in Harrisburg during the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors® (PAR) Fall Business Meetings.
Len Ferber of Strasburg was given the Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognizes an individual who has significantly contributed to the Realtor® organization. Frank Jacovini of Philadelphia was named the Realtor® of the Year, which acknowledges meritorious contributions to the advancement of the profession and to the real estate community. And Andrew Donohue of Jamison was presented the Realtor® Active in Politics Award, which distinguishes exemplary legislative volunteerism on behalf of the association.
Ferber has been a leader in the real estate industry for many years, including serving as PAR’s president in 2006. He also received the Realtor® Active in Politics award in 2000 and has served on nearly every committee at the state and local levels. Ferber is a member of the Lancaster County Association of Realtors® where he served on the board of directors and is a previous chair of the Realtors® Political Action Committee.
He is certified as a Habitat for Humanity global team leader and has lead other Realtors® from the commonwealth on three Habitat for Humanity trips to New Orleans for Gulf Coast Recovery following Hurricane Katrina.
“It’s the people below you that bring you to the top,” Ferber said. “You Realtors® are like family to me. Stay active,” he encouraged.
Jacovini has been a Realtor for 20 years, and served as president for the Greater Philadelphia Association of Realtors® and PAR. In addition, he was a member of the board of directors for the Pennsylvania Realtors® Education Foundation (PREF) and is a member of the Legal Action Fund. He has been a member of PAR’s board of directors for 20 years. Jacovini has served on PAR’s Finance, Executive and Issues Mobilization committees, Convention Advisory and Marketing Group and as a trustee of the Realtors® Political Action Committee.
Jacovini said he wanted to share his award with each of the Realtors® in the room, and thanked them for advancing the Realtor® movement. “This particular award is a sign of approval from your peers,” he said. “I am very honored.”
Donohue has served on PAR’s Legislative Committee and is a legislative key contact for both Reps. Scott Petri and Marguerite Quinn. In addition, Donohue has been NAR’s federal political coordinator for Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick, explaining the importance of the federal mortgage interest deduction, the National Flood Insurance Program and the Consumer Mortgage Choice Act.
“I am flabbergasted,” said Donohue. “There are so many great people in this association…. So many people helped me along the way,” he said.
PAR President Todd Polinchock concluded the ceremony, “We couldn’t have finer folks representing us.”
