Realtors® are making it a Souper September while attending the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors® (PAR) Fall Business meetings in Harrisburg this week.
Cans of soup are being collected throughout the four-day meetings and will be donated to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank (CPFB). The goal is to donate 500 cans of soup throughout the September meetings. PAR members who donate a can of soup can sign their name to help fill a house on a banner located in the registration area. Realtors® have brought food donations for the food bank at each of PAR’s Business Meetings this year.
“Realtors® are known for giving back to their communities,” said PAR President Kim Skumanick. “The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank serves 27 counties in the state, working with 800 partners to distribute food to 55,000 people weekly. We’re proud to lend a hand to such an amazing organization.”
The food drive is a preliminary event before PAR’s seventh annual Realtors® Reach Out program in October. Local Realtor® associations across the commonwealth sponsor charitable activities to benefit their communities. Collectively in the last six years, more than 8,200 Realtors® have participated in Realtors® Reach Out and have raised more than $250,000 and collected 42,300 pounds of food for charitable organizations.
