Legislation extending the ability to conduct real estate education courses via livestream methods was approved by the Pennsylvania General Assembly and signed into law by the governor yesterday.
Real estate licensees and pre-licensing students currently are able to complete education credits through livestream learning methods under waivers first issued by the Department of State during the pandemic and extended by the General Assembly in September 2021. This latest waiver extension was set to expire on March 31.
Yesterday’s extension keeps the waiver in place until June 30.
PAR has been advocating for passage of House Bill 1849 (Polinchock, R-Bucks), which amends the Real Estate Licensing and Registration Act to permanently allow livestream education. HB1849 has already cleared the Pennsylvania House and is awaiting final consideration by the Senate.
Watch for additional updates in PAR JustListed. And, don’t forget that we’re approaching the deadline for all Pennsylvania real estate licensees to renew their licenses – May 31. PAR has created a page on our website dedicated to license renewal questions. Read more about licensing renewal here.
