RAYAC Members Serve Meals to Frontline Workers
Members of the Realtors® Association of York and Adams County recently helped frontline workers in their local community.
RAYAC received a Century of Service grant from PAR to help fund the project. The grants are being given to local Realtor® associations in celebration of PAR’s 100th anniversary this year.
RAYAC’s Hands on Helper Committee was created five years ago to organize community service projects. Selina Robinson, chair of the committee, said, “UPMC has been so helpful with our past projects providing services for the homeless, donating flu vaccinations for the event. They’ve been working so hard through the pandemic and we wanted to do something special for them.”
RAYAC’s Hands on Helpers Committee was able to serve 203 boxed lunches to frontline workers battling against COVID-19 at UPMC Memorial Hospital in York. Central Family Restaurant provided a variety of boxed lunches which were distributed to doctors, nurses and staff members over their lunch break.
Robinson added, “The workers were so appreciative and grateful for the meals. It was a such a good experience and we were glad to be able to provide them with meals.”
“We are so thankful for the frontline workers who work day in and day out to keep our citizens safe and healthy. We are especially grateful for their service and sacrifice during the COVID-19 pandemic and wanted to show our appreciation for them by providing them with boxed lunches and drinks,” said RAYAC President Heather Kreiger. “Selina and the Hands on Helpers Committee did a phenomenal job putting this event together and I am proud to be a part of this organization that has so many selfless people who care about our community.”
