Pennsylvania Women Honored by RISMedia

Two Pennsylvania Realtors® have been named to RISMedia’s 2021 Real Estate Newsmakers.

Joan Docktor, president of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors®, was named to the Hall of Fame Newsmakers and Helen Hanna Casey, CEO of Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, was named to the luminaries.

“I am truly honored to be inducted into the Real Estate Newsmakers Hall of Fame this year,” said Docktor. “I’m also humbled to be included among such incredible icons in the industry.”

Docktor said she “truly loves” what she does. “I started in this business as a sales professional, so I have always been tuned in to their needs and I sincerely care about their growth,” she said. “I am a proponent of servant leadership. Leaders have the responsibility and opportunity to help others. You can be smart, hardworking and knowledgeable, but if you don’t convey warmth to those around you, you will struggle as a leader. I strive to be a servant leader.”

“To say that 2020 was quite a year would be an understatement,” added Docktor. “No one saw this pandemic coming and the resilience of both the housing market and sales professionals have been outstanding and encouraging. We didn’t just ‘get through’ 2020, we achieved. We can achieve even more in 2021. I’ve always said that, in challenging times, there are champions, survivors and victims. Never allow yourself to be in the last category.”

Hanna Casey agreed the inclusion on the list was an honor. “This annual list features many who in our industry who are willing to share their knowledge and experience to help others grow. RISMedia is a tremendous resource for all Realtors® who are looking at opportunities to take their business to the next level. Success in our business is a combination of several things: hard work, seizing opportunities, innovation and creativity,” said Hanna Casey.

“It’s also and perhaps, most important, to have mentors and role models. My family, industry friends and business relationships have given me advice and council through the years. All of these have helped me succeed,” added Hanna Casey.

Docktor and Hanna Casey were both recently named to the Swanepoel Power 200 List, as well as the Top 40 Women’s Executives list, a subset of the Swanepoel Power 200 List.
