The National Association of Realtors® implemented mandatory fair housing/anti-bias training requirements for all members, which must be completed by Dec. 31, 2027. This requirement is in addition to the Code of Ethics training.
Qualified training must be at least two hours and meet specific learning objectives and criteria established by NAR.
One option to meet this requirement is the newly revised Fairhaven 2.0: Essential Fair Housing Education. The online, interactive program is a training simulation that helps real estate professionals learn how to prevent and address discrimination in real estate.
The new program navigates challenging fair housing scenarios based on real stories and helps members learn best practices for frequently asked questions. It illustrates how unconscious bias can cause unfair treatment of clients without our awareness and explains the history of fair housing and its relevance today.
Some members may have completed the previous Fairhaven; however, that will not count toward the required training for fair housing.
