How did you get started in real estate?
I got started in real estate out of the need that my family had at the time. My children were at a very delicate age where they needed mom and I was working corporate at the time – 20 hours a day, which was not good for family life, so I had to change something.

What do you attribute your success to?
The amazing people that I surrounded myself with. I learned at a younger age, while in corporate, that you need to have positive influences around you and when I got into real estate, I found those people and my career has skyrocketed.

What’s the biggest challenge of being a Realtor®?
The biggest challenge is other real estate agents not being as disciplined or as meticulous or as educated as others. It may cause issues or make the transaction a little bit more difficult than necessary.

What advice would you give yourself if you could go back to the start of your career?
The advice I would give myself would be to get better educated early on. Don’t just surround yourself with good people, but to also find tools and resources that will benefit you and really help you succeed.

Why do you love being a Realtor®?
I love being a Realtor® because it grants me the freedom that I need.

Who is the best client you ever worked with?
The best client I ever worked with was a client that I didn’t even want in the beginning. Someone asked me work with this guy. He was looking at $20,000 houses and the other agent didn’t want to work with him because he can be very picky. I was in the first six months of my career and I agreed to take him as a client. That client has turned out to be not only one of my closest friends today, but he’s brought me four or five other clients that we have closed sales with.

What are you most proud of in your career?
I am most proud of being able to achieve what I have achieved in the short amount of time I have achieved it. And that is in no part on my own merits, it’s everyone else around me who has helped me along.

What’s a fun fact about you?
One fun fact about myself, not many people know this, but I do know how to surf. I haven’t done it a few years, so I’m not sure how good I am right now, but I do know how to surf.

What is your favorite memory of PAR?
I haven’t had that many since I’ve been in business three and a half years and I’ve been coming to PAR for three years. I want to say last year’s inauguration when I saw Kathy (McQuilkin, PAR’s 2017 president) being inaugurated. For me as a woman, it was very emotional and very powerful.

What do you do when you’re not selling real estate?
I’m a mother of three teenagers, so that keeps me hopping, but something that I do is I am a Special Olympics coach and a Special Olympics director for my county and a Christian counselor at my local church.
