Pennsylvania Realtor® Bette McTamney was installed as the 2015 president of the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers (CRB), an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors®, last week in New Orleans.
McTamney of East Norriton served as the 2013 president of the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors® (PAR) and is a member of the Montgomery County Association of Realtors®, where she served as president in 2002. She was named PAR’s Realtor® of the Year in September this year.
The CRB Council, which has more than 10,000 members worldwide, confers both the Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB) and Seller Representative Specialist (SRS) designations and is the governing body of the most prestigious real estate network for brokers, owners, managers, and teams in the nation. The CRB designation is designed to elevate professional standards, enhance individual and office performance and designate real estate professionals who demonstrate the knowledge essential to the practice of brokerage management.
A Realtor® for 31 years, McTamney recognized early on the benefits of education and designations. In addition to the CRB designation, she is a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), a Graduate, Realtor® Institute (GRI) and a Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES).
“When I became a broker in 1989, I realized the CRB designation provided the best opportunity to learn how to advance my business and run our real estate office,” she said. “I believe success starts with solid continuing education and the real estate designations, like CRB, are the best opportunity to earn both continuing education credits and achieve a designation. The CRB designation is held by an elite group of Realtors®—only three percent of Realtors® have met the requirements.”
A CRB designee since 1995, McTamney has held CRB positions since 2006. Most recently, she served as 2013 Finance vice president and since 2014 has been a member of the SRS Advisory Board. Prior to that, she served on the Board of Directors, Professional Development, Nominating, and Strategic Planning committees. McTamney has also been active with the local Pennsylvania CRB Chapter for many years and served as its president.
“I’m honored to join a distinguished group of leaders who have served CRB nationally. I’m looking forward to 2015 and the opportunity to represent our CRB members and NAR members across the country,” she said.
