Barb Murdocca, a member of the Greater Harrisburg Association of Realtors®, received the 2024 National Commercial Award from the National Association of Realtors®. This award recognizes commercial real estate professionals who received an award or recognition for their exceptional service and contributions to the commercial real estate industry.
Murdocca was recognized on the national level for receiving GHAR’s inaugural Commercial Member of the Year award last year.
“With a strong commitment to promoting industry growth within our association, I am proud to be active in both local and state-level discussions and policy-making activities that shape the future of commercial real estate,” Murdocca shares. “I am most proud of bringing education to the forefront of my local association and collaborating with others in delivering valuable content to commercial real estate professionals.”
“I believe our goal should be to provide opportunities for Realtors®, ranging from ongoing commercial-related education to more specialized education in property management, appraisal and development. Educational opportunities not only foster professional growth but provide diverse avenues for ongoing career development and continued engagement with the Realtor® association.”
Murdocca has been a Realtor® for 11 years and continues to be involved at both the local and state levels. She is dedicated to her work in commercial real estate and has served as chair of GHAR’s Commercial Council Board of Directors and chair of PAR’s Commercial, Industrial & Investment Committee.
“I love all aspects of commercial real estate and how it not only directly impacts the Realtor® association but also plays a crucial role in our entire national economy,” she adds. “From the sprawling residential subdivisions that provide communities and living spaces, to the multi-family developments that offer diverse housing options for various income levels, to the vibrant mixed-use developments that allow small business owners to thrive and build personal wealth, commercial real estate is integral to our society. It’s the backbone of our economy, providing the infrastructure for businesses to grow, create jobs and spur innovation.”
“Commercial real estate not only supports economic growth but also fosters community development, making it an essential component of our country’s prosperity,” Murdocca concludes.
