AANHPI Realtors® Guide Buyers and Sellers With Confidence

In honor of Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, PAR recognizes several AANHPI Realtors® who are making a difference through their work and their commitment to their communities.

Binay Luitel, Greater Harrisburg Association of Realtors®

“I became a Realtor® to guide homebuyers and sellers through one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives,” says Binay Luitel, a Realtor® for four years and a member of the GHAR Board of Directors. My goal is to provide exceptional service, educate my clients and ensure they feel confident and comfortable in their real estate investments. Helping families achieve homeownership is both rewarding and fulfilling.”

“Real estate has given me the opportunity to connect with diverse families, help them achieve their homeownership dreams and witness their happiness. It’s incredibly satisfying to be part of such an important milestone in people’s lives while building lasting relationships within my community.”

“Representation matters because homeownership is a universal dream, but the journey to achieving it can be different for each community,” Luitel notes. “As a member of the AANHPI community, I understand the cultural nuances, language barriers and unique challenges that many face. Having diverse professionals in real estate ensures that all communities receive the guidance and advocacy they need to navigate the market with confidence.”

Nu Duong, Greater Philadelphia Association of Realtors®

Nu Duong has been a Realtor® for nearly four years, and she currently serves on the Asian Real Estate Association of America, Greater Philadelphia Board of Directors.

“I’ve always had a passion for real estate, architecture and design, but what really drives me is the human side of it – building relationships, solving problems and celebrating wins with my clients,” she says. “Being a Realtor® is the first stage for me to achieve my long-term goal in real estate. I want to deeply understand the core value of real estate – a home for residents and a dream place for business.”

“Real estate has completely changed my life. I used to struggle to understand myself and what is truly the goal for my life in the future. During my time working as a Realtor®, I have learned a lot. Every transaction has taught me step by step, improving myself. I slowly have gained different perspectives about real estate. From a nail technician, I became a Realtor®, and I am also an investor currently.”

“As a proud member of the AANHPI community, I believe cultural representation in the real estate industry is incredibly important,” Duong emphasizes. “Representation helps break down barriers, whether that’s language, tradition or even past experiences of feeling overlooked or misunderstood. It empowers our communities to feel confident navigating what can be an overwhelming process.”

“And for me, it’s about being that familiar, trusted face,” she adds. “Someone who can bridge those gaps and advocate fiercely for clients while honoring who they are and where they come from. That’s powerful, and it’s how we build not just homes, but stronger, more inclusive communities.”

“I’ve always had a passion for real estate, architecture and design, but what really drives me is the human side of it – building relationships, solving problems and celebrating wins with my clients.”

Ty Chhan, Tri-County Suburban Realtors®

Nearing five years as a Realtor®, Ty Chhan serves as a National Association of Realtors® Spire Mentor. She is also a member of AREAA Greater Philadelphia and a 2024 TCSR Leadership Development graduate.

“I began my real estate career specializing in first-time homebuyers, a field I am passionate about,” Chhan recalls, adding that her commitment to learning and growth throughout her Realtor® career has led her various designations and certifications. “I’m dedicated to educating consumers about the market and guiding them through the buying and selling process with confidence,” she adds.

“I didn’t think I would make a difference or an impact in the industry. The more I learned about myself and the industry, the more I wanted to help consumers and my colleagues. When I first started, I really didn’t have a true mentor or an idea of what the market was like. Now, I don’t want new agents to step into the business and have that familiar discomfort of not knowing. I’ve strived to be a prime example of what a Realtor® represents and hold to hold true to my experiences and expertise.”

“It’s so important for everyone to know that I grew up in north Philly with six sisters and three brothers,” Chhan says. “We are immigrants from Cambodia. Watching my parents struggle to provide for all 10 kids made me want to be all I could for them. I wanted to show my parents that, through the trouble and challenges they had to face, they raised a strong-minded young lady who wanted to make a difference in her community. I help our community understand what real estate means for generational wealth and how to start a plan to purchase a home. Service is the key to success.”

“I’m dedicated to educating consumers about the market and guiding them through the buying and selling process with confidence.”

Christine Marie Camacho, Realtors® Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh

“I became a Realtor® to help people from all backgrounds achieve the dream of homeownership,” says Christine Marie Camacho. “A big part of my decision was the opportunity to work with a good friend and her team – agents who’ve dedicated their careers to helping Pennsylvanians find homes and build better futures for themselves and their families.”

Camacho has been a Realtor® for six months and serves on RAMP’s DEI Committee and Community Service Committee, allowing her to engage even more at the local level.

“Real estate has given me purpose and a deeper connection to the Pittsburgh community,” she says. “It’s allowed me to channel my passion for service into action, while also growing professionally and personally. Earning my At Home With Diversity and Military Relocation Professional certifications was especially meaningful, because they reflect my commitment to creating inclusive, informed and supportive experiences for every client.”

“Being from Guam, I know how rare it is to see Pacific Islanders represented – especially in Pittsburgh,” Camacho shares. “That experience helps me connect with others who may also feel like the ‘only one’ in a room. Cultural representation is powerful. It creates trust, opens doors and reminds people that they belong. My goal is to be someone clients can relate to, trust and feel seen by, because everyone deserves to feel at home.”
