“Embracing diversity is an important conversation across all industries, but especially in real estate,” says Harrison Beacher, national real estate speaker and managing partner of Coalition Properties Group.
“There’s a real business opportunity in serving and expanding your reach beyond just people who look like you or come from your personal network,” he adds. “At the same time, we’re seeing a national-level attack on diversity, equity and inclusion. That makes it even more relevant to explain why DEI matters and how it’s good for business, as well as to clear up some of the untruths being pushed on the largest stages in our country.”
Beacher will teach a session at this year’s Triple Play Realtor® Convention and Trade Expo called “Embracing Diversity: Steps Realtors® Can Take to Form a More Inclusive Business,” which will help Realtors® gain a deeper understanding of incorporating DEI into their real estate practices.
“Every Realtor® should take the time to audit their outward-facing marketing to make sure bias or blind spots aren’t showing up in ways that could turn off potential clients,” he says. “This isn’t about guilt – it’s about honest assessment. In this session, we’ll talk about practical tips to review your messaging and ensure your brand speaks to more people, not fewer.”
“We’ll dive into how building a diverse client base connects directly to building a thriving, profitable business,” Beacher adds. “Diversity isn’t synonymous with poverty or low income. It’s about cultural competency, empathy and awareness of your larger community. When you operate with that mindset, you elevate your service, align with NAR’s Code of Ethics and position yourself to grow a stronger, more productive business.”
Beacher will teach “Embracing Diversity” at Triple Play on Tuesday, Dec. 9, from 2 to 5 p.m. Register for Triple Play online.
