Philadelphia ranks no. 8 for renter interest nationwide and no. 1 in the Northeast, according to RentCafe.
Philly’s overall REnT score (which takes into account the availability of apartments, page views, apartments saved as favorites and saved personalized searches) was 75.6 out of 100, placing it between San Jose (76.0) and Kansas City (75.4).
Since last year, Philly apartment page views rose 4%, and listings added to favorites jumped 33%, highlighting an increased interest in the Pennsylvania metro. Saved searches also increased 3%.
In comparison to last year, the City of Brotherly Love dropped three ranks. However, it remains in the top 10 sought-after cities nationwide, and it holds strong as the region’s top rental market for renter engagement, followed by Worcester, Massachusetts (74.13), and Bronx, New York (68.72).
RentCafe also notes that the majority of Philly’s prospective renters were searching from New York City, followed by Boston and Washington, D.C.
