Pa.’s Hanna, Flick and Docktor Named RISMedia Newsmakers
RISMedia announced their sixth annual Real Estate Newsmakers showcase, which includes Pennsylvania’s Howard “Hoddy” Hanna III, Larry Flick V, Joan Docktor and F. Duffy Hanna.
The showcase spotlights “some of the industry’s most dynamic individuals for their accomplishments and contributions to their companies, colleagues and clients, and to the larger cause of expanding homeownership,” according to RISMedia’s article.
More than 300 real estate professionals were nominated by readers, including various influential brokers, agents, executives, technologists, educators and more.
Howard “Hoddy” Hanna III
Hanna was inducted into RISMedia’s Hall of Fame. He is the chairman of Howard Hanna Real Estate Services and a member of the Realtors® Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh.
Founded in 1957, Howard Hanna Real Estate Services is a family-owned, full-service real estate services company that offers clients the full homebuying experience, from mortgage and title to relocation and insurance services. They are now one of the largest private real estate companies in the United States.
Hanna has received various awards and recognitions, including NAR’s Good Neighbor Award, RISMedia/Bank of America’s National Homeownership Award and the Anti-Defamation League’s National American Heritage Award. He has also served and continues to serve on various boards and personally chairs the annual Howard Hanna Children’s Free Care Fundraising drive, which has raised and donated more than $19 million to children’s hospitals since 1988.
“It’s been such an honor to further my family’s legacy at Howard Hanna for so many years,” Hanna told RISMedia. “Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the most talented people in the industry. Getting to work alongside our agents and staff to further the Hanna legacy has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life.”
Larry Flick V
Flick was named a RISMedia Trailblazer. He is the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, the nation’s largest provider of total home services, and The Trident Group.
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach has over 5,000 sales professionals in more than 80 sales offices across the Tri-State area. Their company-sponsored charitable foundation, Fox & Roach/Trident Charities, has positively impacted countless individuals, families and children and has donated over $8 million to more than 250 local organizations since its founding in 1995.
“I’m honored to be recognized as a Trailblazer by RISMedia for Fox & Roach’s commitment to Project Elevate, which surveyed nearly 3,000 agents and managers and resulted in 30+ initiatives to improve both the agent and customer experience,” Flick told PAR. “Our dedicated sales associates inspire me every day, and above all, I’m proud to support them with the technology and tools they need to serve homebuyers and sellers across the region. Real estate is constantly evolving, and the support we provide needs to be as creative and innovative as they are.”
Joan Docktor
Docktor made the list of Crusaders. She recently retired from being president of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors® and is a member of Tri-County Suburban Realtors®.
Docktor has focused on mentorship and coaching, determined to help real estate professionals earn more business and gain more success. She facilitated, mentored and coached various leadership teams and prepared and educated new leaders as head of the Leadership Academy. She values helping others and focusing on relationships rather than just transactions. Docktor was a servant leader to more than 70 offices, 5,500 sales professionals and 700 employees.
“I am very proud and honored to be named a RISMedia Crusader,” Docktor told PAR. “I have spent my career serving our Pennsylvania agents and working to better our industry each and every day. It is wonderful to be recognized for that work. In addition, RISMedia is the pinnacle of news agencies in the real estate space and has helped to elevate our industry for many years. That makes this award even more special.”
F. Duffy Hanna
Duffy Hanna, president of Howard Hanna Financial Services, was named a Crusader. He helped lead HannaFinancial to become an Accredited Social Impact Lender – the first lender to earn the ASIL accreditation.
