Nine Design Trends for 2024, From a Home Stager
Design trends in 2024 are continuing to build on what we saw last year, according to Jessica Long, a professional stager and member of the Greater Lehigh Valley Realtors®.
“As someone who has a passion for interior design, I love to see what’s trending and incorporate what speaks to me into my own home,” she adds. “But as a home stager, I understand the reality that many clients prefer minimal changes before listing their homes. My approach is to offer subtle yet impactful transformations.”
For sellers looking to stage their homes and entice buyers, Long often recommends a fresh coat of paint in a trending neutral color, strategic pops of color, well-placed décor and furniture arrangements. Simple changes and updates like these can help attract potential buyers.
“I try to bring the essence of contemporary design into spaces without overwhelming homeowners,” she says. “It’s about creating a stylish and market-ready presentation that resonates with potential buyers while respecting the practical scope of my clients.”
Whether you’re looking to change up your own space or staging a home to sell, here are nine trends Long shares for 2024:
- White cabinets
- Warm neutrals, like taupe and beige
- Mid-toned flooring
- Clean lines
- Mixed metals
- Butlers’ pantries
- Zellige tiles in kitchens and bathrooms
- Patterned wallpaper in combination with bold color choices and picture frame molding
- The color blue for a calm and versatile vibe
