New MRP certification supports military service members

Realtors® can enhance the services they provide for U.S. service members through the National Association of Realtors® Military Relocation Professional certification.

This certification focuses on educating real estate professionals about working with current and former military service members to find the housing solutions that best suit their needs and take full advantage of military benefits and support.

NAR’s Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council debuted the new certification this week. To become MRP certified, Realtors® must meet a few requirements:

  • Be in good standing with NAR;
  • Complete the one-day MRP certification course;
  • Complete pre-class readings to learn military background information and better understand military culture, and;
  • Complete two one-hour webinars.

The certification is available for a discounted rate of $149 through December 31; and after that, it will be increased to $195. A portion of the application fee will be donated to a homeless veteran’s service organization that serves military veterans and assists with their housing needs.

For more information on the MRP certification, visit www.militaryrelocationpro.org. To find the nearest course location, visit crd.realtor/coursesearch/.

The MRP certification core course will also be available at NAR’s annual conference and expo on Thursday, November 7 in San Francisco. Early-bird registration for the course is $75 before October 11.

This course also counts as an elective for the Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®) designation.
