Relaxing by the lake is a favorite activity for many throughout the seasons.
However, lakefront properties aren’t always the most affordable. Yet, here in Pennsylvania, we have one of the most affordable lake towns in the county. According to realtor.com®, Lake Ariel, which has a median home list price of $307,000, is one of the top 10 most affordable lake towns in the country. Located in the Pocono Mountains, Lake Ariel is a small town that offers visitors and residents some peace and quiet, along with plenty of outdoor activities.
“We’re the lake region of the Poconos and Lake Ariel is right at the heart of it,” said Will Clauss, a local Realtor® in the region. “From full amenity communities with private lakes and pools, to the large acreage parcels and open farm land, there are plenty of options for buyers who want to escape the busy cities and be just a couple-hour car ride to their own vacation spot. You can enjoy a pond in your back yard or an affordable lakefront home on nearby Lake Wallenpaupack which is a 5,700 acre lake and playground for fishing, water skiing, tubing, sailing and just rafting your motorboat up with friends in a quiet cove.”
Even with limited inventory throughout the commonwealth, Lake Ariel still has plenty of options for potential homebuyers.
“To score a deal, consult your Realtor® to discuss the type of getaway home you’re looking for. If you want all the amenities, there are several great communities that are perfect for more action-packed vacations. If you’d rather have peaceful privacy on a quiet non-motorboating lake, Lake Ariel has plenty of them as well,” added Clauss.
