Realtors® Reveal: Favorite Local Breweries

Did you know that out of all 50 states, Pennsylvania ranks third in having the most craft breweries? With 533 (5.4 per capita), the commonwealth produces 2.65 million barrels of craft beer per year, ranking second for the number of barrels – that’s 8.4 gallons per adult aged 21+.

PAR asked Pennsylvania Realtors® what their favorite local breweries were. Here’s what they said.

Conshohocken Brewing Company in Bridgeport

PAR First Vice President Eric Rehling says he usually prefers a macro brew, adding, “Can’t beat a refreshing fine pilsner by the name of Miller Lite, available at most local watering holes! But if my favorite macro isn’t available, I’d lean toward Conshohocken Brewing’s Type A IPA craft brew – a refreshing IPA, especially while enjoying one in their beer garden located on the riverbank in Bridgeport.”

Conshohocken Brewing also has locations in Conshohocken, King of Prussia and Phoenixville.

Runaway Train Brewery in Honesdale

Dayna Gray, District 3 vice president, recommends Runaway Train Brewery, which recently announced its collaboration with America250PA to honor America’s 250th anniversary next July. In celebration, the brewery has released “Declaration,” the official beer of America250PA

Susquehanna Brewing Company in Pittston

“We have so many breweries that have popped up in our area over the last few years, but I think my favorite is Susquehanna Brewing Company,” shares District 5 Vice President Terry Solomon-August. “Great tasting beer and also very community-oriented. I usually go there every Wednesday for trivia – it’s just a fun evening out!”

Allegheny City Brewing, Southern Tier Brewery and Hitchhiker Brewing Company in Pittsburgh

“I’ve rarely met a brewery I didn’t like!” says Jim Jarrett, District 10 vice president. “There are many in Pittsburgh, but I like these three.”

Tröeg’s Independent Brewing in Hershey

“When I’m in Harrisburg/Hershey, I always try to stop at Tröegs,” Jarrett adds. Tröegs is a short distance from various Hershey attractions, making it a convenient stop after a day of sightseeing.
