Use Designation Awareness Month to Advance Your Realtor® Education

You’re busy.

And you’re a pro at real estate by now. Why do you need to earn additional designations or certifications? By increasing your skills, knowledge and expertise, you are distinguishing yourself from other Realtors® on your up-to-date knowledge on the ever-changing technology. November marks Designation Awareness Month by the National Association of Realtors® – and perhaps it’s time for you to take the plunge and earn a new certification or designation. Whether it’s your first or your 12th, there is no doubt this education will benefit both you and your clients.

“From early in my career, I realized that education is the key to success in our industry, which is why I have achieved 10 professional designations and certifications. Completing additional courses to earn designations and certifications has helped me to stand out above my competitors and has made me better prepared to guide my clients through their real estate transactions,” said Bloomsburg Realtor® Dot Rhone.

There are a variety of designations and certifications offered by NAR and affiliated institutions to best serve you and your clients. With 28 to chose from, there is no shortage of opportunities to advance your career.

Additionally, earning designations and certifications offers Realtors® the chance to network with other agents. Through these educational outings, you’ll interact with Realtors® you may not have previously had the opportunity to connect with.

“One of my most coveted designations is my Certified Residential Specialist designation, which I’ve had since 1996. I have sent and received CRS referrals for over 20 years, and I know that when I trust my client’s well being to a CRS designee, I can rest assured that they are working with one of the best. I truly believe had it not been for my additional education and earning designations, I would not have been nearly as successful for the past 34 years. Today, more than ever with our ever-changing industry, Realtors® need to take advantage of the educational opportunities that are readily available to them. Having an alphabet soup after an agent’s name means they are dedicated and committed to professionalism in our industry and to being the best they possibly can to provide the utmost in quality service to their clients. Designations indicate that an agent is serious about their career,” added Rhone.
