Waynesboro Realtor® named finalist for Realtor® Magazine

By Kelly Leighton | March 16, 2018 | 3 min. read

Kristyn Martin, a Realtor® with RE/MAX Associates Realty Group in Waynesboro, was named a finalist for Realtor® Magazine’s annual 30 Under 30.

Voting begins at 1 p.m. today, and will be open until 1 p.m. on Friday, March 23. The finalist with the most votes is guaranteed a spot among this year’s 30 Under 30 and will be named the Web Choice Award winner. Judges will select the other 29 honorees from the field of finalists. You may vote daily.

Martin, who became a Realtor® at 19, said she has has always been “fascinated” with the 30 Under 30 finalist stories she read in the magazine over the past eight years of her career.  She is a third-generation Realtor®.

”I decided early on that I had a decade to earn the honor and I was going to make it happen,” she said. “In 2012, I put the 30 Under 30 logo on a little dream collage I made in the back of my medicine cabinet. I believe this is my fourth year applying, and while possibly I jumped the gun applying when I was 24, I figured the worst they could say was no.”

However, 2018 is her year. “I would be honored to have the votes of the PAR membership. I have attended PAR Business Meetings frequently, I’ve served on the state YPN committee and Keystone Analytics®. I am a graduate of the LeadershipPAR. This year, I’m serving as my local association board president. I do my absolute best to uphold the Code of Ethics in my daily business. To win a spot on Realtor® Magazine’s 30 Under 30 would be a literal dream come true. I am the only finalist from Pennsylvania this year and would love to represent our impressive membership in this year’s class of 30 Under 30,” Martin said.

Martin has had a successful career so far. She became an associate broker at just 25, and thrives on continuing her education to best serve her clients.

“I would say the thing that makes me feel most accomplished in my career is being able to help first-time homebuyers truly understand the process that it takes to purchase a home, and not become overwhelmed. When we get to the end of a transaction and they say, ‘This process wasn’t nearly as bad as everyone makes it sound,’ then I know I did my job well,” she said. “I grew up moving around town almost every year, attending showings, doing homework at the office while dad met with clients, etc. I used to tell the agents I was the boss when my dad had to step out. And my job was always to take the interest rate sheets off the fax machine and put them in a book every day for the agents. I’m pretty sure my blood is Realtor® blue, not red.”

Despite her busy career, Martin said she strives for balance in her life. “Every year, I’ve managed to do better in my career, while maintaining and growing my personal life. I feel its easy to get caught up in the business and let it run your life, but I’m determined to keep a rich personal life while treating my clients with the utmost importance.”
