Pennsylvania Realtors® provided aid to organizations throughout their communities last month during the seventh annual Realtors® Reach Out event, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors® (PAR) and local associations.
Nearly 1,000 members from 29 local associations joined together to host a variety of events and volunteer throughout the community. Associations sponsored a pasta dinner, charity auctions, held a 5K race, hosted golf outings, donated food, held coat drives, collected coins, held blood drives, collected school supplies and participated in community work days across the Commonwealth. Realtor® associations raised approximately $77,000 and collected more than 1,200 pounds of food through Realtors® Reach Out.
“When our members work together, we can accomplish so many meaningful goals,” said PAR President Kim Skumanick. “Every year Realtors® make a difference in their communities by volunteering their time and giving their financial support to many worthy causes. Realtors® Reach Out month showcases how our members and their local associations assist charitable organizations throughout their communities.”
“Giving back to our communities is very important to Realtors®,” said Aaron Piscinoneri, president of the Greater Harrisburg Association of Realtors®. “Realtors® live and work here and we welcome the opportunity to help our fellow citizens as well as to assist in improving our communities.”
The Greater Erie Board of Realtors® (GEBR) participated in Habitat for Humanity’s Games and Ghouls night, raising more than $10,000. “This is a successful event,” said GEBR President Alvin Ames. “There’s a silent auction, groups playing Monopoly and the event has gained momentum over the years; people really anticipate attending. Best of all it makes a huge difference for Habitat.”
