The Greater Allegheny-Kiski Board of Realtors® volunteered to help distribute meals to those in need in December.

The Realtors® worked with the Allegheny Valley Association of Churches, which organizes a drive-up food distribution program. Members helped hand out pre-made food packages to more than 600 cars at the distribution at the Pittsburgh Mills Galleria in Tarentum. Packages were loaded by volunteers directly into the trunk or backseat of vehicles.

AVAC is composed of both clergy and people from 54 member churches, with more than 400 volunteers who serve the needs of the Alle-Kiski Valley.

GAKA President Jeffrey Hartz said, “The Allegheny Valley Association of Churches does a lot of good in our area and our association members are happy to partner with them. The organization provides a range of services for those in need including housing, counseling, food and other items.”

GAKA donated to assist with the costs of the program with a Century of Service grant from the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors®. PAR’s Century of Service grants allow local Realtor® organizations to help make a difference in their communities during the state association’s 100th anniversary.
