Is your website meeting the needs of on-the-go mobile users?

What makes for a great mobile site and an amazing desktop site are two different things. As more and more of the population experiences the web via mobile, creating a mobile website is essential. Today, every real estate professional not only needs a website, but they should also have a mobile-friendly website that is completely accessible by their mobile audience.

Chris Kiel, Director of Strategic Partnerships for HomeFinder.com, offers six tips to creating an improved mobile real estate site.

Optimize your website: Make sure your visitors can easily access your website on a mobile device. According to the National Association of Realtors® (NAR), 89 percent of homebuyers use mobile to conduct their search. A mobile optimized site will give potential clients the convenience of easily contacting you and viewing your listings on-the-go.

Get in touch with ease: Once potential clients land on your mobile site, make it easy for them to contact you. List your contact information at the top of the page and hyperlink your phone numbers and email address so you can be reached with one click.

Simplify lead forms: Keep your lead forms short and sweet. Lengthy forms that require a lot of typing can deter mobile users. Limit the number of entry fields short to the most pertinent information you need from the first point of contact.

Respond automatically: Introduce yourself to potential clients after they submit lead form by setting up an automatic text response through a service like Velocify or your brokerage’s CRM system. The automatic response will engage future buyers and sellers, and give you enough time to send a formal email introduction.

Keep it brief: Keep content short and engaging on your mobile and social sites. Consumers are naturally are drawn to images, so consider using a scrolling slideshow of your current listings to engage visitors without overwhelming them with details.

Connect your social platforms: If you have a strong following on social media, link your pages to your mobile site. How you interact with your social followers will give potential buyers an inside look into your client relationships and could encourage them to reach out.
