How to help victims of Oklahoma tornado
By Diana Dietz | May 22, 2013 | 1 min. read
Relief agencies immediately went into action Monday to help those affected by the deadly tornado, which swept through Moore, Oklahoma.
Among those is the REALTORS® Relief Foundation (RRF). The charitable foundation was established to provide housing-related assistance to victims of disasters.
There are several ways to donate:
- Online via credit card: Use this secure form to make a contribution
- By mail via check: Make checks payable to: REALTORS® Relief Foundation, c/o NAR, 430 N. Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611
The RRF welcomes contributions – not only in times of disaster, but at any time throughout the year, and 100 percent of all funds collected go to disaster relief efforts.
The National Association of Realtor® (NAR) first launched the RRF as the REALTORS® Relief Fund in 2001, within hours of the devastating Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks—raising more than $8.4 million to provide assistance so that surviving family members could stay in their homes. Since then, more than $22 million has been raised for victims of disasters, including wildfires, tornadoes, floods, and hurricanes.
Today, RRF exists as a 501(c)(3) organization established to provide housing-related assistance to victims of disasters and for other charitable purposes. To learn more, visit the Relief Foundation site.
