According to the latest research, the likelihood that a consumer will buy a smart home product increases by 93% for those who have seen the technology in person.

The second annual State of the Smart Home Report, released by Icontrol Networks, focuses on consumers’  attitudes and adoption of smart homes, whether they would purchase said products, and wants and concerns about owning this type of technology.

The report also suggests that personal and family security remains the top reason for smart home adoption, with 90% of American consumers stating that it is one of the most important reasons to purchase a connected home.

Who is looking for a smart home? Overall, 50% of the population is interested in technology, led by 79% of millennials and 76 percent of their parents.
