RPAC fundraising awards presented to local associations

Local associations’ fundraising efforts for the Realtors® Political Action Committee (RPAC) were recognized at an annual awards luncheon last week at the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors® (PAR) Business Meetings in Harrisburg.

The 2013 RPAC fundraising year saw an increase over the previous year, with investments totaling $490,254, up nearly $38,000 over 2012.  This increase in RPAC investments ended a five-year decline.  Membership participation reached 32 percent, up from 29 percent last year.

Six investors were inducted into the PA-RPAC Hall of Fame this year for having invested more than $10,000 over a lifetime: Paul Allen, Dennis Manley, Joe McGavin, Kathy McQuilkin, Don Roth, and Carolyn Sabatelli.

A memorial tribute to past RPAC Trustee Angelo Guerra was given by RPAC Chair and past PAR President Greg Herb.

Associations recognized for the Highest Membership Participation were:

• Small Association – North Central Penn – 92.0 percent
• Medium Association – Pike/Wayne – 77.23 percent
• Large Association – York & Adams Counties – 36.15 percent
• Extra Large Association – Suburban West – 38.03 percent

Associations presented awards for the Highest Per Capita Fundraising were:

Small Associations

• First Place – Greater Meadville – 259.28 percent ($2,878)
• Second Place – Schuylkill County  – 209.84 percent ($5,854.44)
• Third Place – Bradford-Sullivan – 209.45 percent ($2,859)

Medium Associations

• First Place – Centre County – 346.88 percent ($15,713.49)
• Second Place – Butler County – 241.29 percent ($8,867.50)
• Third Place – Poconos Mountains – 155.15 percent ($14,801.39)

Large Associations 

• First Place – Greater Philadelphia – 187.43 percent ($34,717)
• Second Place – York & Adams Counties – 175.74 percent ($22,750)
• Third Place – Greater Harrisburg – 175 percent ($34,487.50)

Extra Large Associations 

• First Place – Lehigh Valley – 183.15 percent ($46,677)
• Second Place – Suburban West – 164.89 percent ($105,046)
• Third Place – Montgomery County – 161.74 percent ($45,157)

Local associations with 50 percent of their members participating included: Allegheny Highland, Bradford-Sullivan, Cambria Somerset, Elk-Cameron County, Fayette County, Greater Allegheny-Kiski Area, Greater Meadville, Greater Scranton, Greater Wilkes-Barre, Lawrence County, Lebanon County, McKean County, Mifflin-Juniata County, North Central Penn, Pike/Wayne and West Branch Valley.
