With a median listing price of just $264,950, Reading is one of the most affordable communities on the list. Additionally, homes on the market in Reading typically last a little longer, giving buyers more time to make decisions.

“Reading being one of the hottest housing markets in the country is no surprise to the locals have always know that Berks County is full of opportunity,” said Jason Burkholder, president of the Reading-Berks Association of Realtors®. “The city of Reading offers what everyone is looking for, affordable housing and an opportunity to grow. It attracts a lot of people who want to return to the city to take advantage of all homeownership there has to offer, from local arts and restaurants to sporting events and concerts, Reading offers a lot of options for easy entertainment, as well as wonderful green spaces in the parks.”
