PAR’s Eric Rehling Accepted Into NAR’s Leadership Academy

by Leighton, Kelly on

Eric Rehling, a member of the Tri-County Suburban Realtors®, was recently accepted in the National Association of Realtors® Leadership Academy.

The Leadership Academy identifies, inspires and mentors emerging leaders from the local and state level, according to their website. One of only 20 Realtors® across the country who was chosen for the class of 2023, Rehling, who has been in the business for 20 years, is a former PAR district vice president. He said PAR President Christopher Beadling, an alumni of NAR’s Leadership Academy, inspired him to apply for this prestigious academy.

“In conversations, President Beadling had a lot of nice positive things to say it,” said Rehling. “I had talked to him about it and he was extremely helpful in encouraging me to apply.”

“As I continue to be involved at PAR, I believe what I learn from NAR’s Leadership Academy will help the organization,” added Rehling. “I want to have a deeper understanding of the industry, learning the larger opportunities and possible threats facing real estate would be extremely helpful. I want to have that internal knowledge of where we are headed in five years and what can we do at a state level to help the industry get there.”

Rehling first got involved in PAR 19 years ago. He misunderstood a standard form, putting his clients in jeopardy. While the deal ultimately worked out, “I knew I had to be better,” he said. He drove to Harrisburg on his own to attend a Standard Forms Committee meeting to learn and hasn’t looked back, becoming involved in many committees on the state level, including the Horizons Committee and the Governance Presidential Advisory Group.

“Attending PAR meetings really helps you understand the why, whether it’s forms or legislative. You get a deeper understanding of what is happening behind the scenes,” he said. “It creates so much more confidence to talk to clients.”

Rehling said the relationships he has built through becoming more involved have helped him evolve as a Realtor®. “What I found if you continue to learn, you continue to grow as a person,” he said. “You create relationships with people you would have never met. You learn different ways to communicate and learn. This experience will help me create additional relationships both at PAR, and my office.”
