480355_540451115997470_1742686894_nPropertyOwner.us.org, a provider of public records to homebuyers and sellers, has started a blog with free information on how to make sure property deals are legit, the company announced Monday.

The blog will contain information that will allow people to know if a given deal is legit or has the potential of being a scam. A spokesman for the company says the company plans to keep track of new types of real estate scams non-legit sellers are using.

“Our core business is protecting potential real estate buyers,” a company spokesperson said in a news release. “Part of that is keeping up on what scam artists are doing in the real estate market. So we not only offer people comprehensive real estate reports, but we’ll also be doing anti-scam education.”

In addition, the company will be launching social media links that will be updated whenever the company becomes aware of a new type of real estate scam.

“Once people are educated about what scam artists do in the real estate industry, it will make it easier for them to know if a given offer is legit,” the company added. “Then they can make sure they only strike a legit deal.”

The blog is currently online and will continue to be regularly updated with new information. The company said they were particularly concerned about a growing online scam that targets people who want to rent homes in new cities.
