With more people opting to leave urban areas for more suburban, or even rural areas, Exton was named one of the top family-friendly places families will want to live post-pandemic.
Realtor.com® ranked Exton as the best suburb outside of Philadelphia due to its’ variety of opportunities for residents. Located just 30 miles from the city, people can easily commute or take the train when needed in the office in Philly. The town also offers plenty of recreational activities, as well as arts and culture.
“Having an office in and serving the Exton area for many years, I have watched this very convenient area grow from sort of a border to the more agricultural sides of Chester County into much, much more,” said Kathleen McQuilkin, a PAR past president. Highly-rated schools are an added benefit for families too.
However, it can be a more expensive area for homebuyers. The median home price in July was over half a million dollars, coming in at $578,550, nearly $200,000 over the median national home price. There are also more affordable townhomes and condos in the area as well, for consumers looking for a smaller or less expensive place in Exton.
“There are excellent biking, running and walking trails, beautiful parks of all sizes and styles, municipalities that are attentive to great activities of all types for residents and visitors, vibrant shopping, dining, services, good train service, access to major routes and, of course, a variety of wonderful housing. It’s a great place to be,” added McQuilkin.
