The Lehigh Valley’s Established Homes and Developments

About this Course

This course will provide an overview of the development and evolution of housing, zoning, and growth in the Lehigh Valley, from the days of farming to the rise of warehouses and corporate centers. Topics will include the move from rural housing into company-built housing and then the suburbs, post-war use of FHA and VA loans, and how local society has changed as our housing has evolved. Attendees will be informed about the varying types of resale homes and issues that might be of concern to consumers, along with what elements to integrate into listing/sales contracts to better serve the consumer.

Learning Objectives:

  • Illustrate how areas of the Lehigh Valley developed and grew.
  • Inform the licensee how development increased the need for infrastructure, zoning and services, and how this benefits consumers.
  • Aide the licensee in identifying issues and help develop strategies to support their ethical and legal duties.
  • Outline the elements needed in the listing agreements and agreements of sale for these existing properties to successfully represent and protect consumers.
