Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency offering approved CE credits in May classes

The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) will offer seven hours approved real estate CE credit on Thursday, May 7, at Temple University’s satellite campus, located in Strawberry Square in Harrisburg.

The classes coincide with the PHFA’s Commonwealth Housing Forum, which will take place on Thursday, May 7, and Friday, May 8, at the nearby Harrisburg Hilton. Realtors® attending the classes will also be invited to attend the forum’s evening networking reception from 5-7 p.m. at the Harrisburg Hilton. The forum is expected to attract more than 600 people in the housing industry, offering Realtors® the opportunity to connect with leaders from across the state.

The classes will run from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fair Housing in a Diverse World, which is approved for 3.5 hours, will be led by Melanie McLane, a real estate speaker and trainer. PHFA Training Program for Real Estate, which has also been approved for 3.5 hours, will be taught by Clay Lambert, PHFA’s business policy officer. Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided, and parking at the Walnut Street Garage is included in registration costs.

“We wanted to offer these credits for Realtors® to see if they would find a value. It’s convenient to those Realtors® who are in the mid-state,” said Scott Elliot, the director of communications for PHFA. “The real draw is certainly the classes, but at the networking event, they can rub elbows with more than 600 movers and shakers. It’s just a good deal.”

This is the first year the classes will be held in conjunction with the forum. Elliot said the PHFA tries to add new elements each time they host the event, and the education opportunity for Realtors® seemed like the perfect fit.

The cost to attend for Realtors® is $69, and is limited to 35 attendees. Registration will now close on Friday, May 1. Interested parties can sign up online.

“Get you credits under control early,” suggested Elliot.
